Yoga for People Living with Cancer

Lotus flowerThis two-hour introductory workshop is for those going though cancer or living with cancer, either through a relative or friend.

This morning held at the Center introduces a supported class which focuses on making one feel grounded and comfortable in your changing or changed body, through the use of asanas (postures), breath practices and meditation.

The workshop includes a yoga class, with gentle postures that safely stretch, strengthen and release tension in the body; combined with restorative postures to achieve physical, mental and emotional relaxation.

There will be a morning tea and time for questions and discussion.

Some of the benefits include ...
~stress relief, balance, support, deep rest and relaxation, peace of mind and emotional well-being.
~improved quality and quantity of sleep, more strength and range of motion, and an improved lymphatic flow.
~increased energy and well-being to the whole body-mind-spirit.
