Nada Yoga 03

On this workshop we will explore the potential of sound through pranayama, singing, chanting and silence.
Nada in Sanskrit means "sound" or "flow of consciousness". Other meanings include: sounding, droning, roaring. The word is etymologically related to nadi, which means "pranic flow or channel". Nada Yoga therefore can be translated as the uniun or merger into sound. By singing, chanting and listening our awareness is drawn to the inner subtle sounds in an attempt to percieve the even subtler sounds of the inner landscape of man's consciousness.

  • Singing the classical Indian scale
  • Experiencing the link between sound, vibration & our states of consciousness.
  • Using breath • postures • mantra
  • Stage by stage techniques
  • All ages welcome

Presenter: Poornam has been a dedicated practitioner and teacher of Nada and mantra yoga for many years. Born into a family where singing was an integral part of daily life, this continues on her path of yoga with a deepening understanding of the subtleties of sound.
