Mantra Yoga an Introduction 99

Mantras are sacred syllables passed on from the great seers.

Repeating a mantra activates the creative force within and promotes harmony in all aspects of our being. The energy, created in this way, can be used for the benifit of the one who is chanting or for the benefit of others.

Come and experience the healing energy of this profound practice.

PART I will be a practical workshop exploring the many ways to practice Mantra:-
  • with asana (postures) and pranayama (breath)
  • in the chakras (energy centres) and nadis (energy channels)
  • baikhari japa (repitition of mantra aloud)
  • using the mantras Om, Bija and Gayatri

PART II will introduce more advanced practices, covering:-
  • maha mrityunjaya mantra (a universal healing mantra)
  • sun mantras
  • upanshu japa (wispering repitition of mantra)
  • likhit japa (written mantra)
